We are excited to announce that Retirees' Gale Thomas, Catherine Deveney, and Marir Cawlina-Kasle are helping in our office reviewing files and the history of our union. We are so grateful for their time and passion! We will be planning an in person event for the Fall 2021!!!

Dear Retirees,
We are grateful to the retirees who joined our Retiree Chapter this SY 20-21. Due to the pandemic we were not able to celebrate together on October 13, 2020, although we did have a short zoom meeting to say hello. On Friday, October 23rd we mailed your calendars, union cards and an LTU mask to our retiree chapter members. Many of you have expressed your gratitude and we truly appreciate your time and years of dedication to the LTU and our students. Stay in touch and keep yourselves healthy!!

So grateful to all the retirees who volunteer their time and energy for our union. We enjoyed seeing many of you at our Holiday Celebration on Wednesday, December 11, 2019. Keep an eye out for more fun events and join us!! Our yearly Celebration of Retirees will be on Tuesday, October 13, 2020. Dear Retirees,
I have received many calls regarding the letter received from the City of Lynn regarding Health Insurance and Medicare eligibility. Part of the Health Insurance Agreement was to look into migrating retired members in to Medicare Part B. The City of Lynn is migrating all retirees 65 years of age and above to Medicare Part B. The city is paying the penalties in order to move your health insurance to Medicare Part B. All retirees over 65 years of age must enroll by June 30, 2020.
Harvard Pilgrim will be Supplemental Insurance - $107.90 monthly for an individual plan.
Medicare part B premium will be a separate cost (determined by Medicare) - average cost is $144.60 monthly for an individual plan.
Medicare is able to be used anywhere in the U.S.A. and your prescription costs should be reduced. There will be no co-pays or deductibles.
Retirees First is the firm handling the migration of retirees to Medicare Part B.
