Elect a Building Representative and School Union Committees

Building Representatives: Leadership in Our Union

Strong unions are built through active and meaningful member engagement. Building Representatives play an essential role in that work by organizing, engaging, empowering, and mobilizing members around the issues that matter most to our educators, schools, and students.

The Lynn Teachers Union recognizes that sustained member involvement is the foundation of a strong and effective union. Building Representatives help foster that involvement by advocating for their colleagues, encouraging participation, and serving as a vital link between members and the Lynn Teachers Union.

Annual Building Representative Elections

Each September, LTU 1037 members elect Building Representatives at the school level. These annual elections provide members with an opportunity to choose colleagues who will take on an important leadership role within their school and union.

Interested in becoming a Building Representative? If you are committed to advocating for your colleagues, strengthening member engagement, and helping build a stronger union, we encourage you to consider running for this important position.

Nominations and elections are conducted at the school level each year. Following the election, please submit your Building Representative election results to LTU prior to the first membership meeting of the school year.
